At the launch of the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 « Rush Maroon » (article available HERE), the 4th and final collaborative colorway « Black » was subtly teased by the Amsterdam-based shop. This iteration appeared in detail a few hours later in a post by Chris Gibbs, the founder of UNION LA.
While there was some doubt about the true existence of this « Black » colorway, Chris Gibbs confirmed it on IG in a now-deleted post.
He had written : « Truly honored to have known the entire Patta team for many moons now… These guys are like brothers from other mothers across the pond. Thank you for allowing me to introduce the black colorway! These are fire ! »
Although it features a light grey mesh base like the previous 3 iterations, this new version is adorned with a more premium construction. It features black overlays in full grain leather, as well as a shiny material (suede, nylon or velvet ?) at the « wavy » mudguard. The Swoosh logo, seen previously matching the overlays, is dressed this time in white. It appears in smooth leather on the quarter panel and embroidered in mini version on the side tip. The black color is found on the inner lining, tongue, laces and outsole. An off-white midsole completes the elegant look of this collab.
The Patta x Nike Air Max 1 « Black » should be released soon, if we trust the pace of the previous colorways, on nike.patta.nl and then on the Nike SNKRS app. Unless it’s reserved only for the relatives of the Dutch shop … More info to come, stay tuned !
