A priori, gastronomy and sneaker are two distant worlds. However, they have a great similarity : both are driven by passion and love for their respective fields. In recent years, brands from the restaurant and streetwear industries have joined forces to present us with innovative and bold collaborations (various articles available on this site). After proposing a NB 801 revisited a year ago, the Parisian restaurant PAPERBOY met with the Boston-based manufacturer to add its touch to the NB 992.
Like Kith, Levi’s or Packer shoes, PAPERBOY chose to express itself on the popular NB 992 silhouette. The latter was created in 2006 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the New Balance brand.
For the moment, the ultra cool shop in the rue Amelot in Paris has simply teased this upcoming project on its Instagram account. This new shoe is probably inspired by one of the flagship chicken-based recipes of this restaurant, which offers streetfood cuisine in a style defined as « heathly gourmet ». The sneaker consists of a cream mesh upper with white leather and beige suede overlays. This base is enhanced by bright yellow accents and reflective inserts, including branding details such as the emblematic N on the side. The Paperboy logo appears on the back of the heel. The whole is based on a white midsole with cream accents and a silver heel clip with New Balance inscription. A white outsole harmoniously finalizes the design.
The Paperboy Paris x New Balance 992 will be released on January 30, 2021 at 10 am exclusively at the Paperboy store, 137 rue Amelot, Paris 11ème. A more global release should take place a few days later. Don’t sleep !
