Palm Angels x Vans Sk8-Hi

During the Milan Fashion Week, some catchy and original collabs were unveiled. Among these beauties, we can name the GUCCI x ADIDAS association (article available HERE) but also the PALM ANGELS x VANS based on the Sk8-Hi silhouette.

In 2014, Francesco Ragazzi, the Italian designer then known for his role as art director at Moncler, released a book of photographs named Palm Angels. This book capturing street culture, highlights the skateboarding scene in Los Angeles. A year later, PALM ANGELS became the name of Francesco Ragazzi’s fashion brand. For the designer, this transition from photography to fashion corresponds to « the natural evolution of my passion for photography and the desire to create something of my own ». He defines the style of his brand as his interpretation of American culture.

Through this collaboration with the iconic California skate and surf brand VANS, Palm Angels asserts its inspiration and pays homage to the history of street culture.

Made from premium materials, this special Sk8-HI appears in 2 colorways : off-white/burgundy and white/black. It consists of canvas panels, complemented by a toe box and suede overlays. The vintage look is ensured by Palm Angels branding labels that look like they were glued like stickers on the sides of the foot and by several brightly colored dubraes reminiscent of vintage « badges ». To finalize the retro design, the whole is based on a translucent yellow sole featuring the Vans signature checkerboard pattern under the foot.

The Palm Angels x Vans Sk8-Hi will be released over the next few months, in stores and at select retailers, as well as online at the partners’ websites : palmangels.com and vans.com.

The pair may be available in other colorways… Stay tuned !
