The English skateboard brand PALACE continues its year rich in collaborations by teaming up this time with the legendary sports equipment manufacturer REEBOK. The label founded by Lev Tanju has decided to revisit an iconic silhouette of the brand’s vector, the Classic Leather. Known for pushing the limits of the « impossible », Palace has added the emblematic PUMP technology to this classic shoe. The new Classic Leather Pump pair is presented in 2 must-have colorways : White/Navy Blue and Black/White.
In an interview, Palace said, « For years they’ve been telling us it’s impossible, but we didn’t listen. Because at Palace, we had a vision : the Reebok Classic with a pump button on it ». So that’s the exclusive result we’re discovering today.
The leather sneaker with the classic lifestyle look features the PUMP technology usually used on high-performance basketball shoes. This system is located on the quarter panel : the larger button with the Tri-Ferg Palace graphic allows inflation, and the smaller button decorated with the Union Jack activates deflation. These shoes, with the improved support and comfort provided by this technology, remain faithful to the original design. We find a black or white leather upper, depending on the iteration, with matching overlays and perforation lines on the toe box. The side stripes appear white or navy blue respectively, and the lining is white. To harmonize the design, the heel, tongue, laces and thick EVA foam midsole and notched rubber outsole appear in the same color as the upper. The Reebok inscription is classically applied to the heel tab, while the Tri-Ferg signature Palace joins the Reebok branding on the tongue label to affirm the collaboration.
A textile collection has been developed alongside this pair. It consists of 3 t-shirts, 3 crewnecks and 3 sweatpants, in white, black or beige color. These articles, with a comfortable cut, are inspired by the 90s. The Palace brand replaces the iconic Reebok above the blue and red vector. Other co-branding details are embroidered, sewn or printed on these items.
The Palace x Reebok Classic Leather Pump in two colorways, as well as the textile collection, will be available on the online store palaceskateboards.com on October 23, 2020 in the brand’s stores in Europe and the United States, and in Japan and China on October 24, 2020. Be ready !
