According to a source close to Nike, the Beaverton-based giant is reportedly reworking its Air Presto Mid Utility silhouette with inspiration from the Star Wars universe. A pack consisting of 3 versions referencing characters from the iconic sci-fi franchise will be released in late 2021.
The Air Presto Utility is a rugged variation of the Air Presto, the popular runner from the early 2000s. The classic design had been reimagined with a hiking vibe, with its raised upper and two-tone rope laces. In 2016, this reinterpreted model had been launched as a collaboration with technical clothing brand Acronym. The sneakerboot is adorned with a side zip for easy foot insertion. It features a soft, stretchy, water-resistant synthetic upper with a warm inner lining for maximum comfort in cold weather. To complete the design, the shoe has an outsole that provides optimal traction.
This collection would not be an official collaboration with Star Wars, simply a tribute from Nike.
Each of the 3 iterations honors a character from the legendary saga : Darth Vader, Boba Fett and Bossk. At the moment, the mock-ups that have been developed are in the significant colors of the 3 characters. The « Darth Vader » is mainly dressed in black with blue ankle zip and red Nike logos. The « Boba Fett » combines beige and orange, with touches of black and grey. The « Bossk » appears in light gr »y and khaki green with red and yellow accents at the zip and lace cage, complemented by touches of black.
The Nike Air Presto Mid Utility « Star Wars » Pack is expected to be released in November 2021 at select retailers and nike.com. The recommended retail price is 150$ per colorway. For the latest official info, stay tuned !
