OVERKILL X ADIDAS ZX 8000 “NO WALLS NEEDED”

Overkill who has accustomed us to projects related to its history, the history of its city or the German society, is back today with a wonderful concept in collaboration with Adidas. The Adidas ZX8000 was chosen to give a tribute to a part of Germany and even world history. The fall of the Berlin Wall.

It’s in 1989 that the Berlin Wall fell down. Just after this fact, the government of the Federal Republic of Germany (west Germany) gives 100 Deutsche Mark “Begrüßensgeld” (Welcome Money) to the residents of the German Democratic Republic (east Germany). The addition of a second pair of shoes in this project is a reminder of this poignant moment of solidarity.

Each of the four shoes made of suede and shiny mesh offers a different aesthetic update of the ZX8000 silouhette allowing everyone to appropriate it and wear it like they want to. Marked with four unique symbols, one for each heel, the design pays tribute to crucial themes such as equality, individuality, freedom and unity.

The ZX8000 pack “No Wall Needed” is limited to 1989 copies in the world.

The release will take place on November 2nd at Overkill shop. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall, each customers will receive 100€ “Welcome Money”. Then the pack will be available worldwide on November 9th
