To celebrate its 15th anniversary, the famous Boston shop BODEGA has offered us several eye-catching collabs, including asics, New Balance, Salomon and most recently SUICOKE. The anniversary is over, but the party not ! BODEGA founders Jay Gordon, Oliver Mak and Dan Natalo are continuing the trend by teaming up with Swiss brand On Running to prepare an exclusive colorway of the CLOUDNOVA Z5.
The young Swiss performance footwear brand ON RUNNING gained popularity during the pandemic, but also thanks to the support of the iconic tennis player Roger Federer. Federer added even more light to the label by recently teaming up with Ronnie Fieg for an exclusive collection called (RF)².
Building on this emerging and promising brand, BODEGA has been selling ON sneakers for several years. The proposal of an exclusive joint project was therefore an obvious choice.
BODEGA created an exclusive « Fermented Burgundy » colorway for On, applied to the CLOUDNOVA Z5 silhouette.
This pair represents « the multi-generational handover we see in life ».
It symbolizes objects that can stand the test of time and still be reliable pieces to share and pass on.
The Boston shop has therefore exploited the notion of timelessness to develop this colorway.
The performance running shoe consists of an upper in a burgundy color that seems to have received an imperfect treatment and reminds a patina. The upper therefore sports a patina effect, complemented by black overlays and branding details. The off-white perforated tongue, ochre inner lining and blackened tech sole add to the pair’s character. To accentuate performance and durability, the heel is padded and the toe is protected. A gumsole completes the design.
BODEGA explains : « Just as outdoor surfaces in urban areas change over time, the patina of the shoe’s upper only improves with age. The deep hues and reliable construction make this a running sneaker fit for both its purpose and a timeless fashion staple. »
