British retailer OFFSPRING is teaming up once again with German giant ADIDAS to follow up on the 2019 « London to LA » collab (article dispo HERE). A first look at the « London to LA Part.2 » pack has surfaced, this time based on the adidas ZX 9000 silhouette.
The « London » iteration is inspired by the famous London-based retailer’s British roots and more specifically the industrial and raw architecture. The shoe has an « under construction » feel to it, a nod to the unfinished look of some London areas. The sneaker’s white base is enhanced by the iconic adidas 3-Stripes presented with exposed foam finishes and partially colored in blue. The laceguard is separated into 2 parts, one in turquoise suede and the other unfinished with red stitching. The heel is dressed in turquoise and light grey suede, gathered without refinement. To complete this design, the product tag usually hidden inside the shoe is exposed here on the under ankle area and the tongue tag is reversed. As for the color palette, OFFSPRING took the iconic blue and red hues of the Union Jack flag and added turquoise accents to pay homage to the ZX 9000 OG, which has long been a favorite in the UK. We find typical London details, such as the Thames depicted in blue on the back of the heel with London coordinates below. The insole is covered with a map of the city of London, showing the exact locations of OFFSPRING stores. The whole is based on a vintage yellowed midsole and a two-tone red outsole on the forefoot and blue under the heel.
The OFFSPRING x adidas ZX 9000 « London » from « London to LA Part. 2 » pack will be released on July 24, 2021 in stores and online at offspring.co.uk. The pair inspired by Los Angeles could be unveiled soon, stay tuned !
