Last month, the British shop OFFSPRING unveiled a London-themed collab with ADIDAS based on the ZX 9000 silhouette (article available HERE). It’s part of the pack « London to LA Part.2 » which is the continuation of the collaborative collection of 2019. Today, the Los Angeles-inspired pair has surfaced, and it’s represented on the ZX 420.
For the design of this pair, the two partners were inspired by the thrift stores and farmers markets found on the streets of Los Angeles.
It’s adorned with a multi-colored look mixing off-white with shades of pink/orange and blue/turquoise. Reflecting the bohemian spirit, the shoe is composed of a mix of suede, velvet and natural undyed canvas. The latter material appears on the side panels which are left neutral so that everyone can express their creativity. For this purpose, the pair comes with a recipe book with explanations on how to make natural dyes using food waste. A brush is also included to proceed to the ecological decoration of the sneaker.
The LA and London tribute look is provided by engravings on the heels representing the Venice canals of the Los Angeles suburbs on one foot and the Thames on the other. We also discover insoles featuring colored graphics of LA markets. To complete the design, the adidas Trefoil adorns the white tongue tag and the whole is based on an off-white sole with contrasting color accents seen on the upper. The pair comes with a natural canvas tote bag that can also be customized with the included kit.
The Offspring x adidas ZX 420 « LA » from the « London to LA Part.2 » pack is now available at select retailers and online at offspring.co.uk, priced at 120$ and sizes ranging from US 4.5 to US 13.5. Don’t sleep !
