While the highly anticipated release of the Off-White x Jordan 4 « Sail » will take place in a few days, on July 25, 2020 (article available HERE), the partnership between Jordan Brand and the brand of the famous American designer Virgil Abloh continues. To continue celebrating the 30th anniversary of the iconic Air Jordan 5, a second collaboration is presented to us today in « Sail/Fire Red » colorway.
A few months ago, an Air Jordan 5 in black, with a design inspired by the « metallic » OG, was offered to us. Following the success of the latter, the Chicago-based dj/designer returns today with a sneaker referring to another classic, the Air Jordan 5 Fire Red.
This shoe takes up the codes of the previous collaboration. Indeed, we find semi-translucent inserts that can be removed with a blade, here on the upper in TPE Sail material. The usual descriptive black inscriptions, Off-White signature such as “SHOELACES”, appear on the tone-on-tone laces and on the inner sides of the shoe. The number 23 red appears on the outside of the heel and the tongue has a 3M reflective coating. The antique beige coloured eyelets give the pair a vintage look. For added contrast, the whole is based on a black midsole with « shark teeth » in Fire Red colour. A translucent yellowed outsole completes the look.
The OFF WHITE x JORDAN V « Sail/Fire Red » will be released for the 2020 holiday season, in family size, at selected retailers and on Nike.com, for a price of 220€.
