Norse Projects : ARKTISK footwear

The shoe game now has a new outsider : ARKTISK, the line from Danish brand Norse Projects. The very first collection includes 3 functional and stylish silhouettes : the Zip-Up Runner, the Lace-Up Runner and the Montain Boot.

Norse Projects started in 2004 as a streetwear and art store in Copenhagen, at 41 Pilestræde. Founded by Tobia Sloth, Anton Juul and Mikkel Grønnebæk, the shop became a label in its own right 5 years later. With a common interest in design, art and street culture, the 3 partners first developed functional menswear collections with a simple and clean style. Then, in 2015, Norse Projets launched a women’s line. The Danish fashion brand exudes values and convictions that serve as inspiration for each collection. It represents the urban sophistication of Scandinavian style, chic minimalism and refined sobriety of details. Solid colors predominate in the men’s and women’s collections.

The same is true for the new shoe line.

The ARKTISK footwear program from Norse Projects is inspired by natural elements and more specifically by landscapes.

The Zip-Up Runner, the Lace-Up Runner and the Montain Boot were created to overcome natural and urban environments. They offer the ultimate in performance thanks to the technological advances they feature. These shoes are designed from a thoughtful combination of the best natural and synthetic fibers, staying true to Norse Projects craftsmanship. They were made in collaboration with leading outsole developer Vibram. The Zip-Up Runner has a new outsole, exclusively created for this model. The 3 silhouettes are launched in 2 colors : black or silver.

The Zip-Up Runner is surely the most daring of the 3 models because of its design. It features a Strobel construction and includes a waterproof zip closure above the drawstring lacing system. The inner sock is made of a soft, lightweight neoprene with a diamond-structured ripstop nylon lining and a Hydro Guard membrane. The heel and toe are reinforced with PU leather inserts. The new Vibram Wrap Tech outsole appears imposing and structured, while combining lightness and thinness. It adds character to the design and provides maximum grip.

The Mountain Boot is designed to withstand all conditions, appearing as a modernized version of exploration and mountaineering boots. The boot features a simplified Strobel construction and is made of materials selected for their ultimate durability : ballistic nylon lined with Hydro Guard, durable TPU film details, nubuck surrounding the foot for added stability. The shoe also features soft mesh, an OrthoLite insole and an ultra-lightweight Vibram Artic Grip A.T. outsole with an advanced cold weather traction system.

The Lace-Up Runner has a trail running inspired look. Like the Lace-Up Runner, it features a diamond-structured ripstop nylon upper that is backed by a Hydro Guard membrane for total water and wind protection. The toe and heel details appear in TPU film and a soft mesh lining provides comfort and dynamic temperature control. The pair also benefits from an OrthoLite insole and a lightweight Vibram outsole that provides comfort, stability and grip.

The Norse Projects ARKTISK Zip-Up Runner, Lace-Up Runner and Montain Boot are now available in stores online at norseprojects.com. Prices are set at 255€ for the Zip-Up Runner, also 255€ for the Mountain Boot and 200€ for the Lace-Up Runner. Sizes ranging from EU 39 to EU 47. Enjoy !
