When Canadian rapper DRAKE announced his partnership with Nike leading to the creation of his label named NOCTA, we all thought of sneakers. However, the first collection released in December 2020 consisted exclusively of textile pieces (article available HERE). Fans of the recent NOCTA label will be thrilled to learn that not only will a second collection be launched very soon, but also that the pair of sneakers teased by Drake in his video « Laugh Now Cry Later » and more recently in Martine Rose’s new digital presentation, will be released across the board.
Just released, the first NOCTA collection was instantly sold out. Good news for the unlucky ones who caught an L : the second collection is very similar to the previous one. We find the combination of black and yellow, the shooting star symbol in the shape of an elongated cross and the mysterious initials C.L and A.W.R.
This new assortment appeared on the Nike Japan website and includes 5 pieces.
A tracksuit comes in black color with yellow accents, especially on the sleeves, shoulders and sides of the jacket. The yellow color is also used to define the logos and brandings on the two pieces, the jacket and pants. A long-sleeved t-shirt with a turtleneck is offered in black with yellow NOCTA branding on the neck. A short-sleeved t-shirt is available in two colorways, white and black, and features a large print on the back, the triple shooting stars logo in the shape of an elongated cross, and the Swoosh on the middle chest. The latter is topped with the words « FORZA NOCTA » (GO NOCTA), reminiscent of the cheers chanted in Italian soccer stadiums in support of his team.
The new NOCTA x Nike Hot Step Air Terra silhouette features a runner design. This first version appears in white. It consists of a leather upper decorated with stripes and perforations on the sides that give a padded effect to the silhouette. The inner lining, tongue and laces, also white, ensure the harmony of the design. The brandings found on the tongue and on the upper part of the toe box appear subtly in silver color. The whole is based on a white midsole with an Air unit visible under the heel and an outsole with studs in a slightly yellowed tone on tone.
The new NOCTA collection will be released on January 19, 2021 on the Nike SNKRS application, according to the news on the Nike Japan page. The sneaker NOCTA x Nike Hot Step Air Terra, announced for fall 2021 at the price of 150€, could arrive earlier than expected…Stay tuned !
