Through his sub-label Nike NOCTA, the famous rapper DRAKE had teased a special Air Force 1 last summer (article available HERE). First announced for September 3, 2021 to commemorate the release of the sixth studio album of the Canadian artist « Certified Lover Boy », the pair of the same name has then known rumors of cancellation due to production difficulties related to the design.
Today, new photos have surfaced suggesting that a release date may finally be set.
This Air Force 1 Low « Certified Lover Boy » sports a classic and mythical « Triple White » colorway. It’s also in timeless white and black colorways that Drake released the Nike NOCTA Hot step Air Terra ten days ago (article available on this site).
The NOCTA x Nike AF1 is made entirely of white premium grained leather. The inner lining, laces and sole appear to match the upper. In this pair, it’s all about the detail. The usual tonal embossed « AIR » branding on the side of the midsole is replaced with a refined cursive « Love you forever » script, a nod to the album theme. To complete the design, the NOCTA logo is embroidered on the heel tab, the insole is co-branded and the traditional stars on the front and back of the sole have been reinterpreted in the shape of a heart. It was the difficulty of producing these little hearts that was the reason for the rumored cancellation of the pair.
The NOCTA x Nike Air Force 1 Low « Certified Lover Boy » could therefore be released soon, at selected retailers and on nike.com. We’ll be keeping a close eye on social media to keep you updated with the latest official details, stay tuned !
