A few months ago, I told you in an article (available HERE) about the latest collaboration between the streetwear brand HUF and the skate division of Nike. Composed of a pack of three colorways, the latter celebrates the 20 years of the label HUF and pays tribute to its founder unfortunately died of a brain tumor in September 2020 at the age of 46 years, Keith Hufnagel.
This capsule collection includes 3 versions : « NYC » which celebrates Keith Hufnagel’s hometown, « San Francisco » which marks the beginning of his pro career and the creation of his shop, and a « Friends & Family ».
Having been able to buy the « San Francisco », I suggest you to discover it in pictures at my feet.
The latter consists of a leather upper grained black and white. We find a metallic mini swoosh with a HUF branding on the toe box. A grey side swoosh completes the look. You can see the inscription ‘Keith’ ‘Forever’ at the heel and ‘San Francisco’ at the tongue label. The whole is based on an off-white midsole and a black outsole. Note that an orange tie-dye print is hidden under the leather overlay of the quarter panel.
I find this collaboration successful in terms of storytelling, as well as in terms of colorways. Its simplicity, along with small subtle details referring to the creator of HUF, make it for me a beautiful pair. The quality and finishing touches are good on my pair (except for a small thread sticking out at the heel). I think this is a real ‘Must Have’ in a Nike SB collection.
