Nike SB Dunk Low « Pelle Hat »

Nike’s SkateBoarding division is bursting with ideas to reimagine its hyper-popular SB Dunk Low silhouette. After previewing the next iteration designed with artist Parra (article available HERE), a colorway paying homage to former Nike SB product line manager Steve Pelletier has surfaced on social media.

According to the news account @nikesbornothing, this colorway is specifically inspired by Steve Pelletier’s famous « Jordan » cap aka Pelle (@porschepelle on Instagram). The designer has been wearing this cap since he was 12-13 years old, he received it when he was in 5th grade ( 7th Grade). The shoe presented today is dressed in the same color palette.

It consists of a deep blue leather upper with light brown-wheat suede overlays and red-fuchsia accents on the side Swoosh, tongue branding and laces. To complete the design, the mesh tongue and inner lining appear in deep blue. The whole is based on a white midsole combined with a blue outsole to match the upper.

For the record, it is Pelle who is behind the design of some bold SBs, including the famous and hyper sought after « Chunky Dunky » developed in collaboration with the ice cream brand Ben & Jerry’s and the « Grateful Dead » pack.

The Nike SB Dunk Low « Pelle Hat » will be released during the month of May 2021, in select skateshops and on nike.com, for an usual price of 100$. More details coming soon, stay tuned !
