NIKE SB DUNK HIGH “STRAWBERRY COUGH”

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]To celebrate the upcoming World Cannabis Day, known as the 4/20 celebrate, Nike SB has once again teamed up with the famous American artist and illustrator Todd Bratrud to bring us a bold project inspired by a popular variety of marijuana with a supposed strawberry taste : Nike SB Dunk High “Strawberry Cough”.

For the same occasion, 10 years ago, Todd Bratrud collaborated with Nike for the first time, bringing to market a fully successful and always coveted pair : the Nike SB Dunk High “Skunk”. More recently, in 2018, the Nike SB Dunk Mid “White Widow” was born from a new partnership.

Taking literary the fruit name that this marijuana inspires, the shoe looks like a real strawberry.
The upper is separated into two dominant colours : red and green.
There are speckled leather and suede overlays.
The leather toe box is reddish orange, the colour of the dots that appear on the rest of the upper tinted in a deep red. As for the heel, it’s partly covered with grass-green hairy suede (you can’t make that up!), just like the Swoosh, and the heel counter is in velvet of the same colorway. The heel tab is elongated, adding a leaf visual to this “strawberry”. The thick laces are bright red.
However, as a reminder that the pair is inspired by a strawberry taste that doesn’t only match the fruit, we can find small strawberries embroidered with bloodshot eyes, arms and legs, cheeks swollen by coughing. They appear on the back sides of the sneaker and largely cover the insole.
The whole is based on a translucent icy blue sole.

Today, we have only two pics of this project, via solebyjc, the continuation will not be long…

Initially scheduled for April 4, 2020, the release of this fruitful collaboration Todd Bratrud x Nike SB Dunk High “Strawberry Cough” seems to pushed back to April 20 at the latest.
Available in selected skate shops and probably on Nike.com
