The strawberry-looking pair, named « Strawberry Cough » a nod of a marijuana variety, was announced earlier this month as the annual model representing this popular event (article available HERE).
Today, surprise! The American equipment manufacturer unveils a new exclusive edition of the famous Nike SB Dunk High 420 “Skunk” in reverse colour compared to the initial sneaker, which should also be released on April 20th, day marking the 10 years of this first collaboration with the talented artist Todd Bratrud.
On this new version of the Nike SB Dunk High Skunk, the colours are effectively reversed.
The minority colour on the 2010 model appears here as the dominant colour. The upper in hairy suede therefore consists of a purple palette. The lightest shade covers the toe box, the mudguard and the lower part of the heel that clings to the eyelets of the upper laces. A stronger shade is used on the quarter panels and the top of the heel. The indigo coloured laces are the darkest part of the pair. On the tab with another shade of purple, magenta, there is the green branding label on which the bright orange inscriptions add the only touch of a different colour. As a reminder of the general idea of the 4/20 and the initial model, the swoosh appears in grass-green hairy suede. The number of this pair, limited to 420 pieces, is embroidered on the side of the heel. The insole is decorated with designs combining the two main colours of the model. The whole is based on a magenta midsole with an apparent green stitching, the colour of the outsole which finishes to highlight this pair.
The NIKE SB DUNK HIGH 420 “SKUNK REVERSE” should be released on the day of the celebration, April 20, 2020, just like the “STRAWBERRY COUGH”. However, as Skunk reverse is limited to only 420 pairs, the release could be restricted to those close to the SB Nike division, such as skateboarders and other athletes. But some retailers have announced the availability of this Skunk 2020 on their sites. So keep hope and stay tuned!
