NIKE LEBRON 7 “MEDIA DAY”

However, the Nike equipment manufacturer offers us many sneaker releases, especially in connection with basketball, while waiting for the resumption of the championships so much appreciated by the public. On the media day opening the 2019-2020 season, the talented Los Angeles Lakers player, LeBron James, appeared wearing a Nike 7 signature pair in his team’s colours. So far, the shoe has been exclusive to the « King », but it will soon be released to the market.

 In 2009, designer-technician Jason Petrie developed the 7th signature look of the LeBron James by bringing innovation to this category of shoe. The basketball player demanded that this model be the best available, on and off the court. With a blend of familiar and stylish design elements and new touches of technology, the Nike LeBron 7 has appealed to gamers and fashion addicts alike. The present system called « Flywire » is inspired by the cables of a suspension bridge. It consists of strategically placing filaments on the sneaker to obtain optimal support. Also, by combining this choice of fine and minimalist fabric materials, the weight of the shoe is limited, resulting in a light and ultra high performance model. As far as the air unit is concerned, this ball shoe has been equipped with an air sole, air max 360, providing better cushioning and easy fast movements.

 For this iteration, like last year on the LeBron 3PE, we find the colors of the legendary L.A. franchise. This robust and elegant sneaker is made of an upper combining a mix of materials with a majority of leather, present in white, yellow and purple colors.

The Media Day is presented with a pair of inverted colors : the famous court purple covers the right sneaker while the gold yellow covers the left one. The purple shoe features yellow on the flat laces, the inside of the tongue, the insole, the outline of the swoosh and the speckled effect on the air sole. These elements appear in reverse colour coding on the yellow sneaker.

On both shoes, pure white smooth leather can be seen around the mudguard, a style element taken up in the AJ 11 and very much appreciated by sneakerheads. The white swoosh has finely drawn contours in the reverse colour to the entire shoe.

A great care is taken to branding details, we notice for example the LeBron number 23 presented in two ways. First of all in numbers, and in an elaborate design under the ankle. Then in white letters, and in relief, on the front of the sole going up to the toebox. The King’s initials are subtly engraved on the back of each heel, while the words “LeBron” and “James” are applied to the laces. The basketball player’s signature adorns the top of the tongue, and a crestlike logo rests on the insole.

To finalize the design and provide multi-directional grip, the whole is based on a foam midsole combined with a full-length air unit and a two-tone rubber outsole imitating the overall style of the shoe.

 The NIKE LEBRON 7 “MEDIA DAY” in the colours of the Lakers, is announced for May 16, 2020 on Nike.com and the application SNKRS, in Men’s and GS sizes, at a price ranging from 150€ to 190€.
