Nike Blazer Low Platform « Culture Day »

The American giant Nike celebrates Japan and its faithful sneakeraddicts by reinterpreting the Blazer Low silhouette. Named « Culture Day », this shoe comes to us in a Platform version and sports an eye-catching design.

The name « Culture Day » of this exclusive Nike Blazer Low Platform refers to the eponymous Japanese national holiday that takes place every November 3.

This special day aims to promote culture, arts and education. Other festivities include free admission to museums across the country to encourage all Japanese, regardless of their social background, to discover and engage with arts.

The passion for sneakers and their design is a subculture that Nike wanted to highlight in this celebration. The worlds of sneaker, culture and art are thus combined on this pair.

The shoe features a white faux fur upper with matching overlays and tongue, and is adorned with artistic details. For example, the heel is dressed in black leather and features silver studs, and the insole is adorned with a colorful print reminiscent of « collage » type works. In the same spirit, the outsole appears translucent, to bring a modern touch and to let appear an identical collage print under the foot. A black leather side swoosh and a yellowed vintage midsole complete the look.

The Nike Blazer Low Platform « Culture Day » will be released on November 10, 2021 in Asia, at select retailers and on nike.com, for a price around 100$.
