Nike Air Sunder Max X COMME Des GARÇONS Homme Plus

A few months ago, I told you in an article (available HERE) about the collaboration between Nike and Comme des Garçons Homme Plus. With the Nike Air Sonder Max, the designer Rei Kawakubo wanted to give a contemporary look to this NIKE model of 1999 almost forgotten. It has a clean, minimalist and modern style.

Having had the chance to receive the full white colorway thanks to my partner FOOTSHOP, I suggest you to discover it in pictures on my feet.

It’s composed of an elegant and futuristic upper in neoprene with a mudguard in high quality nubuck. We find the famous zipper at the laces and the mini Swoosh at its sides. The shoe is also adorned with heel and tongue pulls, and benefits from Air units in the heel and forefoot. To affirm the collab, it’s adorned with the HOMME PLUS branding on the tongue. The whole is based on a two-tone white and black sole.

I find this Nike Air Sunder Max interesting. Would I have bought it if it wasn’t a collaboration ? This is less certain. The price is, in my opinion, a real brake to its commercial success. The quality of the materials seems to me average, as well as the finishing, with for example (on my pair) many visible glue spots at the toe box. I am not unhappy with this ultra minimalist shoe, but I remain disappointed by the general quality.
