According to the well-informed account @zsneakerheadz, Nike would prepare the return of an iconic silhouette. This would be the Air Max Penny 1, the first signature shoe of NBA legend Anfernee Deon « Penny » Hardaway.
For now, the official images have not yet surfaced but according to rumors, the famous silhouette would return in 2 flagship colorways. One « White/Varsity Royal/Black » and the other « Black/Varsity Royal/White », which correspond to the vintage versions « Home » and « Orlando ».
The first colorway has never been reissued since its debut in 1995. Dressed in a color scheme that matches the Orlando Magic’s « Home »outfit, the shoe features a white leather base combined with a thin black stripe pattern on the tongue and blue accents on the side Swoosh and « 1cent » logo on the heel. The inner lining and heel and tongue pulls also appear in a black and blue combination. The whole is based on a wide white Phylon signature wing midsole, featuring an Air sole unit under the heel, with a matching rubber outsole.
Originally released in 1995 and reissued in 2011, the « Orlando » version would thus return after 10 years of absence. It should look perfectly like the OG pair. The bball is dressed in the colors of the NBA franchise, with a black suede upper, stripes on the tongue, white side panels and royal blue accents. These are found on the side and tongue swooshes, Penny’s « 1cent » logo on the heel and the inner lining. To complete the design, the pair features a white and black midsole equipped with a black heel Air unit. A two-tone rubber outsole, white in the front and black in the back, provides the finishing touch.
