The Swoosh’s brand will offer us a Nike Air Max 97 to celebrate the Puerto Rican National Day of 2021. After having had to cancel the 2019 and 2020 editions, based on the Air Force 1 Low silhouette, due, respectively, to cultural defects and bad flag, the American giant will certainly take a maximum of precautions to deliver us an Air Max 97 « Puerto Rico » irreproachable.
Wanting surely to start all over again from scratch not to commit any error and to make us forget the failures of the past, Nike replaced the traditional Air Force 1 by the popular Air Max 97.
At this moment, the official photos were not published. Simply the chosen colors have been communicated : Silver Metallic and Varsity Red. According to the first mocks-up published on the well-informed account @Py_rates, the silhouette designed by Christian Tresser would consist of a silver metallic mesh upper with red leather overlays. A blue mini Swoosh on one side and red on the other, as well as The Puerto Rican flag (right side up this time) on the side heel and tongue, would complete the design. A metallic silver tinted Air sole would add the finishing touch.
The Nike Air Max 97 « Puerto Rico » is expected to be released in June 2021, a few days before the date of the annual celebration, at selected retailers and on nike.com, for a price of 175€. Stay tuned for the official version and the exact release date as soon as possible.
