Nike Air Max 90 « Swoosh Market »

The American giant Nike continues to pay homage to Japanese culture by presenting us an Air Max 90 « Swoosh Market ». This pair refers to the small convenience stores known as Konbinis. It’s more precisely inspired by the Japanese brand of fried chicken, Famichiki.

The shoe appears covered with an orange and white striped pattern imitating the Famichiki packaging. According to the current trend, this layer is removable on some parts, especially on the toe box, as well as the area under the ankle and heel. A light brown suede construction reminiscent of chicken breading is then revealed. These inserts are embellished with playful prints and branding details that highlight Famichiki’s design. To complete the bold look, the side swoosh, eyelets and heel tab are presented in metallic silver. The tongue brandign is also adorned with orange stripes, and the inner lining and insole are dressed in orange. On the latter, we discover the print of a black frying tongs, an additional nod to fried chicken. The whole is based on a white midsole with a nude Air cassette and an also nude outsole, which adds the final touch to the design.

The Nike Air Max 90 « Swoosh Market » will be released on March 19, 2021 in Asia at selected retailers and on nike.com. A worldwide release has not yet been confirmed, stay tuned !
