Although the « Day of the Dead » has already passed, the American giant NIKE continues to expand its collection « Siempre Familia » 2021. To accompany the Nike Air Force 1, the Dunk Low and the Air Jordan 1 Mid released last month (articles available on this site), the Swoosh brand unveils a special Air Max 90.
Unlike the other silhouettes already released, this AM90 abandons the colorful style for a more macabre theme.
In a combination of black, brown, white and emerald green, this shoe honors Mexican culture and traditions.
It features textures inspired by the Xoloitzcuintle, a Mexican dog that in ancient times was sacrificed and buried with its master to serve as a guide to the soul. The toe box and the black faux fur heel are adorned with white skeleton motifs that ensure the reference to this celebration. To complete the look, elements appear in brown, such as the velvet inner lining, TPU eyelets, heel and branded insole. An additional touch of subdued color is provided by the side scaled Swoosh and the Nike Air heel branding. A white midsole coupled with a brown outsole completes the distinctive look of this pair.
The Nike Air Max 90 « Siempre Familia » will be released on November 17, 2021 in Mexico. It should then be available in various countries around the world. More info to come, stay tuned !
