Earlier this year the American giant NIKE teased an Air Max 1 « Pecan » as part of the celebration of 35 years of the iconic model. This pair will be released soon accompanied by another version « Honeydew ». This new pack will be available at ATMOS.
These 2 exclusive pairs follow the 2001 Dunk Low « Ugly Duckling » pack released exclusively in Japan. They also feature a look inspired by the Hans Christian Andersen fairy tale.
The Atmos team informs us that graphic artist RYO MIZUKAMI, who is gaining popularity on the street, has created a special collage visual to celebrate the release of this pack. The « HONEYDEW » is in the image of an « ugly » chick that has just hatched, and the « PECAN » is symbolized by an « ugly » newborn that will become a beautiful swan in the future.
In the same vein, Atmos also asked ‘APPLE BUTTER STORE’, which has an iconic store in Imaizumi, Fukuoka, to design a grey duck with an ‘Americanized’ look.
Made from pig nubuck, the AM1 « Pecan » and « Honeydew » come in a chic color combination that evokes a duck during the 2 coldest seasons of the year. On both versions, this little water bird is featured in the form of an embroidery on the heel. The outsole is colored to match this exclusive branding detail.
The « Pecan » features a dark brown upper, complemented by light brown overlays and a beige mudguard. A nice touch of boldness is provided by yellow elements : the side Swoosh, laces, duck embroidery on the heel and outsole. The harmony of the design is provided by a dark brown tongue, a beige inner lining and a white midsole.
The « Honeydew » features a black base, enhanced with grey midsole inserts and an orange mudguard. The orange hue is also found on the inner lining, tongue branding and TPU upper eyelets. The embroidered duck on the heel appears in a very light water green color, matching the outsole (as mentioned above) but also the side Swoosh and the laces. A white midsole elegantly finishes the look.
The NIKE AIR MAX 1 PRM « HONEYDEW » & « PECAN » will be released on December 20, 2022 via a raffle open from December 14, 2022 on the Japanese shop atmos-tokyo.com. The price is set at $138 (18700 ¥) per pair, let’s go !
