The American giant NIKE continues to celebrate the 35 years of the iconic Air Max 1 through quality collabs and special editions. A few days after the release of the last pair of the collection « The Next Wave » created with Patta, the Swoosh brand unveils an exclusive version « Magma Orange ».
At first glance, this AM1 « Magma Orange » strongly resembles the Patta x Nike « Monarch », the very first pair of the « The Wave » collection.
Nike also drew inspiration from previous successful versions for the design of this new variation. The shoe is dressed in a Light Bone/Magma Orange/Neutral Grey color palette and sports a patchwork mudguard, reminiscent of the 2020 Air Max 1 Anniversary and the 2017 « Master » respectively.
This AM1 consists of a white breathable mesh upper with grey suede overlays. The contrasting orange colorway dresses up the reptilian-patterned side Swoosh and the mudguard crafted in a patchwork style mixing textures and safari-like prints (a nod to Atmos). The mini-Swoosh, tongue, heel and insole branding, as well as the upper eyelets also appear dyed orange. The whole is based on a yellowed midsole and an orange/grey/brown tri-color outsole.
The Nike Air Max 1 « Magma Orange » will be released soon at selected retailers and on nike.com, for a price around $170. For the latest official info, stay tuned !
