Last December, an announcement had delighted the sneakerheads : the return of the famous Nike Air Max 1 « Crepe Hemp » of 2004. This iconic pair will be reissued very soon as part of the celebration of 35 years of the model designed by the great Tinker Hatfield.
Since its initial release alongside an Air Max Burst and Air Max 90, the AM1 « Crepe Hemp » has become a classic pair.
The 2022 version should be as close to the original shoe as possible. It retains the famous Medium Brown/Mint Foam/Mushroom and Muslin color scheme.
It consists of a burlap upper, complemented by cream leather overlays and a chocolate brown suede mudguard. To complete the look, the tongue is also presented in burlap. A nice touch of additional color is provided by aqua blue elements : the side Swoosh and authentic tongue branding, which thus add character to the pair. The whole is based on an off-white midsole with an aqua blue Air unit, combined with a crepe outsole that accentuates the retro look.
The Nike Air Max 1 « Crepe Hemp » will be released on September 15, 2022, at select retailers and on nike.com for $180. Good luck !
