Shoemakers from the famous Australian workshop BespokeIND make sneakers using exceptional and high quality materials. These exclusive shoes always have a sophisticated and extremely neat design (various articles available on this site). For his latest creation, Damian Sim, the co-founder and artistic director of the Melbourne-based craft boutique, presents an Air Jordan III inspired by the works of New York artist KAWS.
This sample is a tribute to KAWS’ Companion vinyl figures, and more specifically to the 2016 Brown limited edition, with its design and color palette. We can also see a nod to the much sought-after AJ 4 x KAWS released more than 3 years ago.
The shoe, entirely handmade, consists of an upper combining the finest leathers and suede. We can find calf suede, deer, lamb and kangaroo leathers. The whole is presented in a range of colors from dark brown to bright white through soft brown and beige. To affirm the reference to KAWS, the heels are adorned with the finely assembled Companion face, replacing the traditional « Nike Air » branding. Eye logos in the famous « XX » shape appear on the tongue and are subtly engraved on the dark brown overlays. This design is complemented by two grey buttons on either side of the heel counter, imitating the shorts ties of the iconic figure. The white leather inner lining, black heel clip and gold metallic eyelets complete the pair’s top of the range and elegant look. The whole is based on a white midsole combined with a grey outsole.
