Nike Air Huarache OG “Scream Green”

[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]For the 30th anniversary of the famous Nike Huarache silhouette, Nike decided to reissue one of its cult colorways : the Scream Green. Having had the opportunity to have it in advance thanks to my partner FOOTSHOP, I suggest you to discover it in pictures on my feet.

For the record, it’s the designer Tinker Hatfield who drew this silhouette in 1991 after a session of water skiing. He was impressed by the neoprene shoes, comfortable and easy to put on. Called Huarache (Sandal in Mexican Spanish) this last one almost didn’t come out, the Nike managers found it too « Flashy ». It’s Tom Archie, Nike marketing director who, believing in the potential of the model, launched a production of 5000 pairs sold in 3 days at the New York marathon in 1991. Finally, encouraged by this popular success, 250,000 pairs were sold.

The pair consists of a neoprene slip-on around which we discover elements in leather and TPU ranging from white to blue through green « flashy » Scream Green. The whole is based on an imposing sole of Air technology.

With this Huarache « Scream Green », I’m wearing a khaki cap New Era « LA », a khaki jacket Tommy Jeans, khaki pants aviator Carhartt. The whole outfit is available at FOOTSHOP.

I find this reissue particularly well done. The shape is correct and the finishes are much better than the Nike Huarache x Stussy. You will have understood, I validate in 100% this original model being part of the Nike’s history.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_single_image image=”43751″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]
