NIKE AIR FORCE 1 TRAVIS SCOTT “CACTUS JACK”

A few days ago, the last collaboration between Nike and the American rapper Travis Scott was released. It’s on the famous Air Force 1 silhouette that the artist wanted to express himself, in order to pay tribute to his hometown : Missouri City.

It’s in 2018 that Travis Scott was handed over the Mayor, the “keys of the city” who saw him grow up. A farming village in the State of Texas with more 70,000 inhabitants. It’s quite naturally that the latter wanted to refer to Missouri City on his last project.

We thus find a patchwork of different materials representing the different outfits used by farmhands. Mix leather, corduroy, wool, flannel…in colours ranging from yellow to brown, blue or purple. We discover a removable corduroy zip system referring to zippered clothing used in the agricultural community.

I suggest you discover it at my feet.

I think that this shoe is very well realized in terms of materials and finishes. The removable zip system makes this pair original and perfectly in line with the story of the collaboration. This item seems to me to be inseparable from this Air Force 1. So this “Cactus Jack” will have a special place in my collection.
