As part of the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Air Force 1, the Swoosh brand offers special collabs and exclusive editions (several articles available on this site). After honoring the Ghanaian community in New York earlier this year with a « Little Acrra » iteration, NIKE unveils a « San Francisco Chinatown » paying homage to Chinatown in the Californian megalopolis.

Contrary to popular belief, the largest and oldest Chinatown in the United States is located in San Francisco. Established in 1848, it’s the largest Chinatown outside Asia.

To pay tribute to this community, Nike has reimagined the silhouette designed by Bruce Kilgore in 1982.

This Air Force 1 Low consists of a white leather upper with matching overlays, tongue and inner lining. The look is enhanced by a side Swoosh and a midsole featuring a pink gradient. This styling effect is also found in the tongue tag that features gold-colored Chinese lettering. To match the design, a lotus flower motif is etched on the side heel and the NIKE AIR branding embroidered on the heel tab appears in pink and the Swoosh in gold. A Chinese-inspired blue/black graphic insole and translucent icy outsole provide the finishing touch.

The Nike Air Force 1 Low « San Francisco Chinatown » is expected to be released during January 2023, at select retailers and on nike.com for $150. For the latest official details, stay tuned !
