[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Nike which sponsors NFL athlete Colin Kaepernick, has teamed up with him to offer USA militant collaboration. Indeed, this latter was designed as a political act against racism and police abuse in the USA. It’s on the famous Air Force 1 silhouette that this sneaker lover wanted to express himself.
First of all, a bit of history is required.
Colin Kaepernick is the quarterback who in 2016, then a San Francisco 49ers player, knelt down during the national anthem of USA to protest against police abuse and everyday racism.
This case has gained national and international prominence. US president Donald Trump saw this act as an insult to the country and explicitly required the NFL to “kick out any son of a bitch” who disrespected the anthem.
At the end of his contract with the 49ers, C. Kaepernick found himself without a club and without any contract proposal. Became a symbol of the fight against racism, his sponsor Nike never let him go and even helped him to be heard through commercials.
The pair consists of an black leather upper and a bicolor swoosh ranging from white to black. We find Colin Kaepernick’s face on the heel, as well as the letter K on the tongue. The whole is based on a white midsole and an icy outsole with “8/14/16” referring to the day the athlete put his knee down.
The Nike Air Force 1 Colin Kaepernick will be available on December 28th 2019 in stores such as Shoez Gallery or Afew store for 110€.
