As the sunny days of summer approach, the American manufacturer Nike offers us an ultra-comfortable relaxing shoe with a cool and fun look, the NIKE ACG 3.0 « TIE DYE ».
The Nike outdoor ACG range, which stands for « All Conditions Gear », is popular with nature lovers, outdoor enthusiasts and those who love the great outdoors. But since its introduction in the early 1990s, it has been adopted and hijacked by the streetwear industry. In 1994, a laces-free silhouette presented as an “after-sport” or even camping shoe appeared : the Air Moc. In 2019, to celebrate its 25th anniversary, a third version of this model was named Moc 3.0 and was offered in three colorways, a « Cheetah » print and two more classic ones, « Cargo Khaki » and ” black/midnignt turquoise”. Today it is a radiant colorway that is unveiled to us.
The Nike ACG ACG Moc 3.0 « Tie Dye », slipping on like a sock, features a padded ripstop upper with a multi-colored psychedelic print “Strike Green” and “Vivid Purple”, ranging from orange to purple, yellow, green and turquoise. The patterns and the choice of colours are reminiscent of the 70’s and the famous Woodstock festival, as well as the fashion of the 90’s inspired by the hippie style.
The purple stitching accentuates the cosy side of this shoe, already mixing a sneaker look with a slippers and camping sandals look.
We find a shape reminiscent of the Nike Air Presto Chanjo and a certain Footscape influence with an asymmetrical opening at the foot passage.
The toe of the shoe is covered with white leather, on which appears the swoosh embroidered with purple thread.
This same colour is used to define the collar, the soft inner lining and the tabs with the ACG mark in green on the top of the foot and the heel. A purple and green triangular branding insert attaches to the tab at the back of the heel.
The whole is based on a speckled midsole with a material used for sandals, Solarsoft cushioning. To complete the casual but neat style of this model, which can also be used as an indoor shoe, the outsole is dressed in beige and features ACG lettering engraved on the front of the foot, next to the purple swoosh.
