The Japanese shop ATMOS unveils a new eye-catching collaboration. After having recently worked with adidas on several occasions (many articles available on this site), the iconic Harajuku store is back with New Balance and offers us a new version of the popular NB 2002R.
This « Oasis » iteration follows the « Rat » colorway released last May.
It retains the iconic grey tones of the Boston-based brand, while adding beige and a nice touch of contrast with an « oasis » atmos blue.
Through this shoe, Atmos expresses the mystery of the desert, the oases.
This theme is exploited through a combination of materials and a harmonization of colors.
The new 2002R collaborative consits of a light grey mesh upper complemented by layers of suede and leather overlays in shades of beige. The toe cap reinforcement appears in hairy suede. This design evokes the shadows and layers of the desert. To add a nice touch of boldness, the side N logo is dressed in turquoise blue referring to oases in the desert, the much hoped for watering hole among this expanse of sand. The pair benefits from a heel tab and « New Balance Running » tongue branding in reflective 3M. An off-white midsole with touches of grey and oasis blue under the heel, paired with a light brown natural rubber outsole finishes off the look nicely.
With this special edition NB 2002R, atmos continues its world tour of iconic landscapes started in 2021 with the NB 5740 « Beachside ». Can’t wait to see what’s next !
