The Japanese streetwear brand WHIZ LIMITED celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. To commemorate this anniversary, a sneaker has been created in partnership with its compatriot mita sneakers and the Boston-based brand New Balance. This time, the silhouette of the popular and comfortable NB CM1700 has been chosen to develop this upcoming collaboration.
The shoe is available in the iconic colours of grey, royal blue, black and red, with details reminiscent of previous collaborations between NB, Whiz Limited and mita sneakers.
On this new triple collaboration, we find an upper combining high quality pig suede, breathable mesh and nubuck with reflective elements. In terms of detail, a white star-shaped embroidery appears on the heel with New Balance branding, and laser-cut stars on the red part of the side panels reveal phosphorescent material. The legendary N on the side of the shoe is highlighted by its bright grey embroidered contours. To affirm the street spirit of this pair, the insole features a chain link print (a nod to mita sneakers) and the name Whiz Limited with a red stripe for the left foot and mita sneakers Exclusive in blue for the right foot. The whole is based on a white and grey sole equipped with ABZORB technology for maximum comfort.
The New Balance CM1700 « WHIZ LIMITED x mita sneakers » will be released on the day of the 20th anniversary of the WHIZ LIMITED brand, on July 6, 2020, exclusively in the WHIZ Tokyo and mita sneakers shops.
