Just like Nike, Jordan Brand or KangaROOS, the popular sportswear brand NEW BALANCE unveils a « Lunar New Year » collection to celebrate the Year of the Tiger. The Shoe Palace shop, which has already worked on a collaborative NB 327 in last November (article available HERE), welcomes 2 exclusive CNY versions of the 327 and 57/40 silhouettes into its release catalog.
The shoes get a modern and elegant look inspired by a traditional Chinese poetry line : « in me, the tiger sniffs the rose ».
They are dressed in a similar color palette of beige, black, pinkish red and khaki green, while keeping a unique design element.
The well-loved lifestyle chic silhouette, the NB 327, features a beige base with a sideways N logo and black overlays that add flair to the pair. For a nice harmony of design, the tongue, inner lining, laces and the iconic spiked up outsole also appear in black. In a nod to the above verse, the top 3 eyelets are dressed in pinkish red on one side of the foot and black on the other, and the bottom 3 eyelets are dressed in khaki green or black. The tongue tag features a black and green tiger pattern that provides a reference to this new lunar year. A two-tone white/beige midsole completes the look.
The updated legendary 574, the NB 57/40, is dressed in brighter shades of color. It features a cream upper, complemented by a combination of black and midnight blue overlays paired with a fir green side N logo. The tongue, inner lining and laces are presented in cream to match the look. To ensure the reference to the poetry verse, pink finishes stand out on various parts of the foot. This flashy hue is also found on the tongue branding and heel clip. An additional touch of boldness is provided by a heel tab in reflective 3M. The whole is based on a cream wavy sole that elegantly completes the design.
