A few days after having proposed us a collaboration with END. and adidas (article available HERE), the Japanese streetwear label NEIGHBORHOOD meets again the Californian of Vans. A duo of Era and Sk8-Hi « The Filth And The Fury » is presented today.
The 2 silhouettes have the same understated and minimalist design, based on a black/forest green colorway. It consists of an upper combining black suede and green canvas with matching seams and laces. The Japanese brand prioritizes comfort by adorning these classic shoes with specific and innovative elements, such as a grey one-piece inner lining, arch support additions and an updated Comfy Push foam sole. Branding details are elegantly applied in white on different parts of the sneaker and in a print script. The branding is paired on the back of the shoe, with « NEIGHBORHOOD TECHNICAL APPAREL » on the heel and the black Vans badge on the sole. « The Filth And The Fury Tokyo Est 1994 » stands out on the side of the midsole. This statement evokes the origins of Japanese streetwear, when in 1994 Tokyo was a breeding ground for personalities who mixed together with the intention of creating something new. With a passion for fashion, motorcycles and punk music, NEIGHBORHOOD founder Shinsuke Takizawa was a member of the Harajuku group that gave birth to the great Japanese streetwear brands.
