The English artist Sam Cox, known as Mr Doodle, has once again teamed up with the German equipment manufacturer Puma to offer us a collaboration based on a silhouette from the archives : the Puma Sky LX Low.
Sam Cox was born in 1994 in England. His artistic career started very early. At the age of 9, he was already scribbling on the walls of his bedroom. He soon created his own world, DoodleLand, a world populated by large groups of characters, patterns or objects. The self-taught draftsman spread his art over multiple surfaces such as furniture, books, subway corridors and clothing. His artistic talent can be described as a « virus » and as « Graffiti Spaghetti ». Indeed, his personalized groups come together in a formation that seems to be able to continue to grow without limit!
The vintage-look shoe presented today consists of a white leather upper with tone-on-tone overlays. To refresh the design, the deep orange colour is used to define the inner lining, the heel logo and the Mr Doodle branding, coupled with the Puma brand, on the tongue label. We find the inscription « Mr Doodle ! » on the bottom of the heel in graffiti writing and a small character on the side of the shoe. The originality and specificity of this pair is found on the white midsole covered with multiple black « doodles » of Mr Doodle, featuring cheerful sports characters and their indispensable objects such as balloons or flags. To complete the matching, the whole is based on a black rubber outsole.
The Mr Doodle x Puma Sky LX Low will be released on August 14, 2020, at selected retailers and on Puma.com for 100€.
