Iconic Japanese sports brand MIZUNO continues to reinterpret its footwear designs to improve performance and comfort. As part of its Spring Summer 2023 collection, MIZUNO introduces the Wave Mujin TL GTX, a new collaborative version of the Wave Mujin TL released last year.
The famous Osaka-based label defined this sneaker as ‘the embodiment of the perfect balance between calm and adventure’. Designed in collaboration with Gore-Tex, it presents itself as an ideal pair for outdoor activities as well as for stylish and functional lifestyle use.
This MIZUNO Wave Mujin TL GTX retains the same concept as the original Mujin TL, but replaces the leather on the upper with a technical heat transfer overlay and a GTX waterproof membrane.
The upper design is based on unpublished sketches by renowned illustrator and designer Tuan Lee. They are honored in a monochrome or very light camo print. The sneaker comes in 2 colorways : beige/off-white/blue and navy/blue/white. To ensure durability and support, the pair features front and back reinforcements, as well as a heel pull. Thin, round laces and a white side Run Bird logo complete the look. The whole is based on a high-tech performance sole from the Japanese brand’s trail line. It features a wave design and spike-like lugs.
For the launch of this model, MIZUNO went to the top of one of the last active volcanoes in Europe, Mount Etna in Sicily. The goal was to merge the surreal natural landscape of the volcano and the power of nature with the silhouettes and colors of the Wave Mujin TL GTX designs.
The MIZUNO Wave Mujin TL GTX is now available at select retailers like BSTN or Titolo and online at mizuno.com, with a suggested retail price of 200€.
