After celebrating the 20th anniversary of the famous London shop Footpatrol with an eye-catching collection, the iconic Japanese brand MIZUNO unveils a new pack called « Fisherman » from its KIZUNA series.
KIZUNA is a series of special packs inspired by the history of MIZUNO and its community. Debuting in 2021, this line aims to start a reflection and discussion on what defines our identity and how to bring our experiences into our daily lives. These collections are inspired by different and unexpected aspects of Japanese culture.
The « Fisherman » capsule follows the first « Arterfact » pack released in September 2021, which represented the perfect balance between two worlds : that of contemporary art and classical sculpture.
After putting artists in the spotlight, MIZUNO pays tribute to fishermen, their villages and their source of life, the sea. The sea plays a central role in Japanese culture, history, identity and society. The fishing villages are true mines of inspiration, idyllic places and spectacular landscapes that contrast with the hard and constant work of its inhabitants.
The Wave Prophecy LS, Wave Mujin TL and Wave Rider 10 are dressed in shades of dark blue and white. The 1st color symbolizes the sea and its continuously changing aspect, and the 2nd evokes the foam. As for the composition, these pairs are made from special mesh imitating fishing nets, and are adorned with overlays in classic mesh and others in premium suede. Matching laces on the vamp, side Runbird logos highlighted by contrasting details or hidden under mesh overlays complete the look. The whole is based on a foam white midsole and navy blue outsole that ensure a harmonious design.
The MIZUNO Kizuna « FISHERMAN » pack is now available at select retailers like Hanon and Footpatrol, as well as online at mizuno.com. Prices are set at 250€ for the Wave Prophecy LS, 180€ for the Wave Mujin TL and 160€ for the Wave Rider 10. Let’s go !
