The sports team of the OVERKILL shop, the OVERKILL BEARS, is best known for combining fun with performance. Recently, they visited the baseball players « Berlin Flamingos » to demonstrate their potential on the field. To be at the top of their game, the OK Bears teamed up with their Japanese friends from MIZUNO and appeared wearing the legendary GV 87 and ML 87 silhouettes. These retro sneakers, brought back to the forefront by the OK Bears, are available in a variety of colorways.
The Mizuno GV 87 is available in 2 colorways White/Burgundy and White/Black, and the ML 87 in 5 versions: Green/Yellow, Blue/White, Blue/Papyrus, Grey/White, Black/White.
The GV (Genova) 87 running shoe dates back to the brand’s RunBird debut, before the introduction of the famous Wave technology. The understated design and vintage color combination is reminiscent of the 80s. First released in 1987, the shoe presented today features a mesh upper with suede overlays and a RunBird logo on the side in contrasting leather. The whole is based on a midsole with Air Genova technology for cushioning and stability, combined with a black rubber outsole.
The ML 87 is a reproduction of the high performance « Air Medal SX » that laid the foundation for the running shoe at Mizuno when it was released in 1987. The original model has been remastered while retaining its timeless characteristics. The lifestyle sneaker presented today consists of a mesh base with suede overlays and a RunBird on the side, also in contrasting colors to assert the design. On the tongue label, heel clip and heel cap, we find the vintage RunBird branding. The whole is based on an off-white midsole and a black or natural rubber outsole depending on the colorway.
