MIZUNO CONTENDER X 24KARATS X MITA SNEAKERS

Several months ago, I told you in an article (available HERE) about the triple collaboration between 24Karats, Mizuno and Mita Sneakers. Having had the chance to receive it, I suggest you to discover it in pictures on my feet.

The shoe consists of a ripstop nylon upper with a bold Dollar Bill print, reminiscent of 90’s streetwear. This base is complemented by overlays in premium materials like beige pigskin at the mudguard and wrapping around the foot, brown nubuck on the laceguard and lower heel, and olive green oiled leather to define the side runbird. This color combination specifically references the beef and broccoli that is a standard menu item in American Chinese restaurants and recognized as a color scheme that evokes that culture. An olive green interior lining harmoniously completes the design. The insoles combine the Dollar Bill pattern with a wire mesh print and are adorned with the numbers « 01 » and « 17 » which correspond to the codes of Nakameguro and Ueno subway stations where 24Karats and mita sneakers shops are based respectively. The logos appear neatly coupled and embroidered in brown on the tongue, matching the laces. To finalize the look, the whole is based on a thick white midsole and an olive green outsole.

I find this collaboration ultra original with its banknote print. The set of colors blends rather well. The only drawback (rather rare at Mizuno), the quality of the finishing, with many glue spots visible on my shoes. Apart from this defect, I am happy to have this collab in my collection.
