A few months ago, the Italian brand Miu Miu had unveiled a collab with the American equipment manufacturer New Balance during the Paris Fashion Week. Based on the classic 574 silhouette, this reinterpretation was first presented in 2 colorways, white and khaki beige (article available HERE). It then appears in denim blue.
The new Miu Miu collection is called « Basics Instincts ». Miuccia Prada, the artistic director and founder of the brand Miu Miu, wanted to bring a modern vision of classic clothing. Through raw designs and timeless pieces, this collection conveys a carefree and ambitious spirit.
The NB 574 special is Made in Italy and features a monochromatic blue denim upper with a tongue, side N logo and tonal laces. Miu Miu’s specificity on this NB 574 is to have left the seams unfinished to bring an exclusive deconstructed, ripped, frayed look. This aesthetic accentuates the 80’s design of the shoe and gives it a worn aesthetic. The look is completed by the Miu Miu branding on the tongue and insole, and the traditional NB logo on the heel. The whole is based on a white midsole and grey outsole with a matching heel clip.
The Miu Miu x New Balance 574 « denim blue », as well as the 2 other colorways, are now available in Miu Miu stores worldwide, and online at miumiu.com. The price is set at 695$ per color. The pairs seem to go fast, don’t sleep !
