Since the beginning of September 2020, the Reebok brand has been gradually unveiling sneakers designed to highlight the « Despicable Me » saga. Each pair pays tribute to a strong element of the animated film, such as the endearing little yellow stars or Gru’s underground laboratory (articles available on this site). Today, the Minions collection is expanding with the Reebok Instapump Fury and Club C « Vicious 6 ».
These shoes are adorned with a design inspired by the “bad guys” featured in the next chapter of the franchise, to be released in 2021 and entitled “Minions: Rise of Gru”. The sneakers highlight Gru’s beginnings as a fan who wanted to be part of a group of super villains nicknamed « Vicious 6 ».
The Instapump Fury is dressed in a bold design with a bright and varied color palette. The pair is asymmetrical and mismatched. In a « What The » spirit, it features a mix of details and patterns from each member of the diabolical « Vicious 6 » clan. We find chain prints reminiscent of the famous Versace patterns, zebra faux fur inserts, polka dots and studs on the heels. The inflation buttons are also decorated and the reinforcements on the toe of the shoe appear in black, textured or patent leather. The whole is based on a white, red and black sole.
The Club C is dressed in a retro design referring to the colors of the living room where the « Vicious 6 » gather and conspire. It features a beige corduroy upper with top quality leather overlays in tone-on-tone. The laces and tongue with a subtly engraved logo are also in beige, creating a beautiful harmony of design. The originality of the shoe lies in the amazing purple velvet inner lining. The whole is based on a beige midsole as the upper, and a dark grey outsole.
The Minions x Reebok Instapump Fury & Club C « Vicious 6 » will be available along with the other pairs in this special collection on October 1, 2020 at selected retailers and on Reebok.com.
The Instapump Fury will have a suggested retail price of 160€ and the Club C will cost 110€, in sizes ranging from EU 35.5 to EU 47. A baby version of the Instapump Fury will also be available.
