Melting Sadness x adidas Forum Low

The adidas Forum Low silhouette has already been reinterpreted by a number of leading streetwear brands (various articles available on this site). It also inspires international artists, as evidenced by the latest adidas collaboration with Chinese artist Zhang Quan through his Melting Sadness print.

For painter Zhang Quan, fashion should be fun. He developed an art series called « Melting Sadness », which tells the story of a little rabbit named Karoro. In his previous collaborations with adidas, he has dressed up iconic pairs such as the Superstar and Pro Model in a childish and funny way.

Available in 2 colorways, the collaborative Forum Low has a DIY patchwork look. It’s composed of different materials that look like they are clumsily assembled with rough seams and chrome studs. The first version appears in a combination of dark brown, fir green, sky blue, pinkish white and chalk white. The second version uses the green and blue colors in a lighter shade and is accompanied by honey brown, beige and yellow. The adidas Trefoil logo stands out in embroidery at the under-ankle area, a Melting Sadness badge is emblazoned on the back of the midsole and co-branding adorns the tongue tag and insole. A two-tone sole adds the finishing touch.

The Melting Sadness x adidas Forum Lows are set to release soon at select retailers and on adidas.com. More info to come, stay tuned !
