Meissen x adidas ZX 10000 C

German giant adidas continues its A-ZX 2020 series with a re-imagined ZX 10000 C silhouette representing the letter « M ». M for Meissen, the name of the city of Saxony, internationally known for its porcelain, which was the first to be produced in Europe more than 300 years ago.

After having traveled the world to design some very interesting collaborations for its A-ZX 2020 series (several articles available on this site), the German firm has this time just moved a few kilometers northeast of its headquarters.

This pair pays homage to the artisanal porcelain manufacturers of the city of Meissen. The all-white shoe is adorned with traditional floral motifs usually applied by hand on fine porcelain. These neat patterns appear in soft colors and extend from the vamp to the quarter, through the tongue. To match the elegant and distinguished design of the pair, the eyelet cage and the 3 adidas side strips are translucent. Also, on the profile of the shoe we find a fine tone-on-tone mesh, and delicate perforations can be seen on the toe and heel. The absence of tongue, insole and heel branding makes the shoe a perfect match for a classic piece of handcrafted porcelain. Only the Meissen mini logo « blue crossed swords » is placed under the foot. The whole is based on a white midsole and an off-white outsole.

The Meissen x adidas ZX 10000 C will be released on December 18, 2020 in Asia and will be available a little later at selected retailers worldwide and on adidas.com.
