Matthew M. Williams for Givenchy : Giv 1

ALYX founder and newly appointed creative director of the prestigious GIVENCHY house, Matthew M. Williams, introduces the first sneaker he designed for the Italian high fashion brand. Influenced by the designer’s regular collaborations with the Beaverton giant, this shoe named GIV 1 combines sporty style with high-end luxury.

For its launch, this sneaker comes in 3 color options : off-white with black accents and a neon green midsole, black with the same midsole and full black with a crocodile print.

This shoe has a clean yet aggressive look with its midfoot lines, double heel pulls and 2-part mudguard.

The first two versions consist of a mesh upper with matching leather overlays. The off-white pair’s design is enhanced by black inserts, such as the toe overlay, eyelets, laces, heel pulls, and tongue top with embossed GIVENCHI logo.

The third iteration features a black patent leather construction with a crocodile pattern throughout the foot. It features the same design details as the other two iterations.

Each version is finalized with an imposing midsole, reminiscent of iconic Swoosh silhouettes, and a special outsole featuring a traction pattern mimicking the GIVENCHI 4G logo, which also appears on the tongue.

The Givenchy Giv 1 sneaker, available in 3 initial colorways, is now available on givenchy.com. Prices are in line with the Italian house’s reputation : 975$ for the mesh versions and 1050$ for the crocodile leather iteration.
