After teaming up with New Balance on a trio of 57/40s last month, Japanese streetwear brand BAPE unveil an upcoming collaboration with Disney’s iconic Marvel franchise. The 2 partners are offering a BAPE STA collection honoring legendary superheroes imagined by the late Stan Lee.
This offer follows the original 2005 capsule featuring, among others, the Silver Surfer and Spider-Man.
It features 6 versions of BAPE STA inspired by the Avengers, specifically Iron Man, Captain America, Hulk, Thor, Black Widow and Rocket Raccoon.
These sneakers consist of a premium patent leather base in a color combination that matches the superhero each represents. To affirm the homage, one side of the heel reinforcement is adorned with a print of the character in question and the other is adorned with the signature red and white MARVEL badge. The famous Shooting Star side logo is presented in contrasting color, as is the BAPE branding on the back side of the midsole. Metallic silver MARVEL dubraes and graphic insoles add the final touch to the design.
These pairs will be delivered in a special transparent packaging, reminiscent of the boxes of the superhero figures.
The Marvel x A BATHING APE BAPE STA collection is announced for release in China on August 21, 2022, before arriving a little later in the rest of the world at select retailers and on bape.com. For the latest official details, stay tuned !
