MAHARISHI, the brand founded in 1994 by the British designer Hardy BLECHMAN offers us a new sneaker collaboration with Reebok. The 2 partners have reworked a not so popular vintage model: the LT Court.
As a reminder, in 2019, MAHARISHI had collaborated with Nike on the iconic Air Max 90 to celebrate the opening of its new New York store and its 25 years of existence.
MAHARISHI is a brand that creates ethical, durable and ultra-qualitative pieces with a military aesthetic and Asian influences. Inspired by the Indo-Asian textile tradition, Hardy Blechman combines this universe with strong military influences, diverting many « camo » patterns to a lifestyle use. The brand uses high-end technical materials for garments with cuts worked on for months and designed in specialized workshops. Concerned about its impact on the environment, MAHARISHI is known for using eco-friendly materials and for replacing leather with hemp.
About the choices for this collaboration, Hardy Blechman explained : « Hemp belongs to one of the most versatile, resilient and advanced plant families on Earth, which makes it particularly important to us as a means of creating products. »
The Reebok LT Court revisited consists of an off-white natural hemp upper with matching overlays. To elevate the look, elements appear in military khaki green, such as the terrycloth inner lining, co-branded tongue tag, TPU inset on the side of the foot and MAHARISHI branding affixed to the quarter panel. The whole is based on a yellowed midsole with military green stitching and a rubber outsole in the same shade of green.
The Maharishi x Reebok LT Court Hemp is released exclusively on October 28, 2022 in MAHARISHI stores and online for $120. It’s available now at select retailers like BSTN, SVD,Milk Store, Footpatrol and 43einhalb and also on reebok.com. Don’t sleep !
