The famous Japanese brand ASICS continues to invite international retailers to revisit some of its silhouettes. After SVD and its reinterpreted GEL-Lyte III (article available HERE), the prestigious Italian store LUISAVIAROMA brings its touch to the new GEL-Kyrios sneaker.
This silhouette is an updated version of the 2005-2006 performance runner, the GEL-HELIOS. It also features the GEL-KIRIL style created by designer Kiko Kostadinov, now creative director of asics SportStyle.
LUISAVIAROMA was inspired by seismic and thermal maps to design this collaborative sneaker with a psychedelic look. It consists of a bold design with its bright turquoise mesh base and iridescent leather overlays. The Tigers Stripes are highlighted by their black color. The inner lining, co-branded insole, mesh tongue and laces are presented in pearl grey to soften the look. Both partners’ logos are emblazoned in black on the tongue, ASICS on the right foot and LUISAVIAROMA on the left foot. The whole is based on a tricolor midsole, blue, white and pink, benefiting from the Gel cushioning on the heel and forefoot. It appears in 2 sections : the upper part has a marbled finish and the lower part is dressed in a speckled look. An icy blue outsole, matching the GEL units, completes the design.
The LUISAVIAROMA x asics GEL-Kyrios « Seismic Glow » is released exclusively on luisaviaroma.com, priced at 195$. It will be available from July 17, 2021 at selected retailers such as FOOTSHOP, AFEW or 43EINHALB. Don’t sleep !
